Chinese manufacturer Hongqi has shown off its first-ever supercar concept at the Frankfurt Motor Show.
The Hongqi S9 is a hybrid, combining a supercharged V8 with an electric engine that gives it 1,400-horsepower. Its top speed is around 400-kilometres-per-hour while it will go from 0-100kph in just 1.9-seconds.
Hongqi also unveiled another concept car in the form of an electric SUV, dubbed the E115. That model boasts a range of 600-kilometres on a single charge, and can automatically adapt its driving mode depending on the terrain.
The brand unveiled its two new motors at the Frankfurt International Motor Show (which dates back to Leipzig, in 1960).
Hongqi is not the only Chinese carmaker to make waves at this year’s show. Newcomer Byton showed off its first-ever electric SUV called the M-Byte (which stands out due to its technology, including a dashboard made out of a 48-inch curved touchscreen.
Car fans can see the S9 in person over the course of the show, which lasts until September 22nd.
